5.1 POWER SUPPLY

The Power supply is located to the right hand side of the refrigerator before working on this unit, it is important that the power cable is completely disconnected from the mains.

To get access to the power supply it is necessary to remove the bottom cover plate.
Power for the various parts of the machine are distributed from the rear panel, the connectors are of different types so it is impossible to put the wrong plug in the wrong socket.

The power supply unit has two fuses, one for the main 230 volt supply and one for the 24 Volt AC power supply. The power supply also has an isolation switch and an indicator lamp.

5.2 ELEVATOR KIT (LIFT)

All MSX series can have lift unit installed, which is designed to pick up fragile products delivered by the spirals. This allows products to be delivered undamaged and stops the foaming of carbonated drinks.

ATTENTION. All the operations of installing or removing of an
Elevator/Lift must be done by qualified personnel and paying attention to
        the following:

1)    NEVER SWITCH ON THE  MACHINE WITHOUT THE TRAYS BEING PUSHED Fully HOME AND LOCKED IN POSITION
2)     NEVER LEAVE THE KEY INSERTED IN THE INNER MONETARY DOOR

When the lift reaches the lower limit switch, the elevator tray is rotated through 90 degrees depositing the product in the delivery bin

The opening cam regulates the amount of rotation of the elevator tray

MANUAL LIFT BUTTON

A push button switch is fitted to the inside door which if pressed will send the elevator to its upper position. Pressing it again will lower the elevator
The push button switch is used during filling to allow the bottom tray to be slid out for filling.
When the manual lift switch is used the safety upper and lower limit switches are active and will stop the elevator at its top and bottom positions.

TO LOAD PRODUCTS ON THE LOWEST TRAY PRESS THE LIFT PUSH BUTTON TO SEND THE LIFT TO THE TOP POSITION. PRESSING THE BUTTON AGAIN WILL LOWER THE ELEVATOR TRAY TO THE STANDBY POSITION

5.3 CAN BOTTLE BRIDGE/RAIL

To vend products with a flat based products or cans/bottles a Bottle Rail must be used. A pin is inserted into the spiral drive and the Bottle rail is placed over the pin. The front end of the Bottle Rail is held by 2 screws.  The product is placed on the rail and between the spirals.

Attention. For tetra pack products the extremity of the spiral must be set at 90°
and the positioned products tilted in at45°.

All the operations must be carried out by qualified personnel. Bottle conversion kits can be ordered from the Spares section of this manual.

HQBO OPTION/ANGLED TRAY

The patented angled bottle tray, HQBO, is used to maximise the number of bottles or cans that can be delivered from one tray. This type of tray can be filled very quickly. Before loading, first ensure that the angled surface is slippery (use silicon spray) then place the bottles or cans in the delivery spiral and load the cans row by row

·    Make sure that the products to not foul the tray above and that the microswitch
lever arm correctly stops the product spiral once one product has been vended.
The micro switch lever arm can be gently bent to ensure that this occurs

The Angled bottle tray will vend two separate or one single product

Microswitch lever arms detect a product has been vended and stops the vend motor. The two exit gates can be adjusted so that the opening is between 12-15mm wider than the product diameter
In the MSX 10 a complete tray will hold a maximum of 36 products per side.  THE MSX8 24 products per tray. The trays are delivered from the factory setup to vend 330ml cans. Other cylindrical products can be vended once they have been tested and adjustments made to the microswitch lever arms.

The products which are being vended must slide easily on to the delivery spiral; this means that the bottom of the product must always be parallel to the slope

We recommend the use of a silicone spray on the angled sections. Care must be taken not to have deep scratches or gouges in the angled section.
Regulate the exit gate in such a way that the product is 12-15 mm diameter smaller than the exit gate opening.

We recommend the use of a maximum 3 HQBO shelves per machine if products are small then up to 4-6 of these shelves can be used. With 4-6 HQBO shelves an elevator kit is advisable.

With the elevator kit the machine can be set with up to 7 drawers if cans are used for a total of around 516 cans on a MSX.

The angle of the shelves can be altered if the products are not sliding easily.
Adjustment is made using 3 screws located under the sloped tray, if P.E.T. bottles are used and appear unstable; a modification kit is available to remedy any problems.

5.4 TEMPERATURE DIVIDER

It is possible to split the vending machine into two temperature zones
This is achieved by installing an insulated panel that divides the inside space of the machine.
The panel can also be used with a double temperature probe that controls the temperature in the two zones. The second probe is connected to the EN0459 circuit board and is located in the upper temperature zone. The software automatically recognizes the presence of the second probe and the display will show the two temperatures, the left hand display showing the bottom zone temperature and the second to the top zone

The temperature in the bottom part of the machine is automatically regulated from 2°C to 4°C and is fixed. The temperature in the upper part of the machine is programmable from the temperature setting software. The display shows the two temperatures side by side with the bottom zone temperature on the left hand side. Generally the area above the insulating plate is in the range of 8/12°C.; this depends on the position of the divider and on the quantities and type and quantity of product stored in the machine.

In practice the temperature in the upper zone should be set to 14°C - 18°C, although it can go down to  11°C.

The dividing plate is normally used where chilled food is to be sold such as dairy products, sandwiches etc.  All model MSX manufactured after 20-03-2005 are wired for the management of the two temperatures with separator. To install this option a Separator, an upper fan and a second temperature probe must be installed.
